The GED is the test you must take to receive your Massachusetts State High School Equivalency Diploma. The test consists of five sections that examine your knowledge of science, writing, social studies, reading, and mathematics. You can take each section separately. Each one will take approximately one to two hours to complete. You must pass all five sections to receive a GED diploma. There is a standard fee to take the GED test.
