About Us
The Hudson Maynard Adult Learning Center offers free English classed (ESOL) and ABE/GED prep classes to adults in our communities. HMALC is the outgrowth of the Maynard Adult Learning Center which was started in 1985 in partnership with the Maynard Public Schools. In July 2003, Hudson Public Schools became the program's fiscal agent and as a result the program changed its name to Hudson Maynard Adult Learning Center. The Hudson Maynard Adult Learning Center currently serves about 250 students from 19 different communities whose ages range from 17 to over 65, providing 12 ESOL classes and GED preparation classes.
The Hudson Maynard Adult Learning Center is primarily funded by a grant from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Throughout the years we have been fortunate enough to receive community support which has enabled us to offer additional classes. HMALC receives or has received community support from:

- Hudson and Maynard Public Schools
- Friends of Hudson Public Library
- Avidia Bank
- Middlesex Savings Bank
- Comcast Foundation
- Wal-Mart Literacy Foundation
- Unitarian Church of Hudson and Marlborough
- Intel Massachusetts
